Baumann, MD, an expert in the area of cosmetic ingredients, agrees that there is little proof behind most marketing claims for natural skin care products . If you want to try natural skin care products , Baumann recommends zeroing in on a specific concern and match the ingredient to it. Baumann says Argan oil may improve skin ailments such as eczema , psoriasis , wrinkles , and dry skin . She also recommends olive, safflower, walnut, avocado, and evening primrose oils for dry skin . “Active soy” in Aveeno Positively Radiant and Neutrogena products has been altered in the laboratory for greater effectiveness. As a teenager I had bad acne as and most of the acne products I tried did nothing more than dry out my skin, leaving it irritated and flaky. I began to build a natural skin care regimen from the information I had required and read about, it worked excellent for me and I never turned back. “Use oil to wash my face?!” Yes Oil is an excellent and gentle skin cleanser for all skin types. It deep cleans, soothes and most importantly does not strip the skin. Instead it leaves the skin soft, clean, and moisturized. I split the oils up by 1/3 and shake. Have fun mixing up different oils and ratios and finding the best mixture for you. It treats acne and exfoliates and balances the ph of the skin. A 1:1 ratio works great for my skin but you may need to adjust the ratio according to your skin needs. Aloe vera supplies oxygen to the skin cells, rejuvenates, hydrates and makes the skin flexible. Ingredients: One cup of pure aloe vera juice or gel, and one cup of distilled or spring water. It is a humectant making it an effective moisturizer because it binds moisture to the skin and keeps it hydrated. Directions: Mix ingredients, wet face with warm water and smooth the face scrub over skin.
In general, the natural oil cleansing method is a great solution for any skin type, though the combinations of oils varies based on skin type (see below). The best combination of natural skin care options varies based on skin types: Switching to gentle and natural skin care options often goes a long way toward removing excess oil production, but in the meantime, there are some natural ingredients that can help prevent breakouts and remove excess oil. Moisturizing/Toning: Those with oily skin will need less moisturizing as skin adjusts, and often, the natural oils from oil cleansing are enough. Those with skin that is not typically oily or dry and that responds well to different types of products and makeup usually adjust very quickly to natural skin care options. My skin was more oily when I was younger and as I’ve transitioned to natural skin care options, it has become more “normal” so these are the options that I use: Those with dry or aging skin often benefit immediately from natural skin care options. Often, using natural oils on the skin helps the skin to balance oil production and stop being dry to begin with. The move towards natural, chemical-free skincare products is becoming more and more mainstream. Consumers are becoming more and more aware of the fact that the things we put on our skin affect both our health and the health of our environment. Additionally, even if we are using pristine and homemade products, we can still be disrupting the regeneration cycle of the skin. The terms “natural” and “naturally derived” have no significance. When we apply drying products on the skin, it actually signals the skin to produce more oil to compensate for the oil that is being stripped away. The same “like treats like” principle also goes for dry skin, according to holistic skincare expert Dr. When treated with the right ingredients–both outside and inside– the skin will increase cellular turnover and look soft and smooth… Especially when it comes to the beauty of our skin! In my opinion, the most significant change we can make for better skin is balancing our hormones naturally through diet, lifestyle and a few carefully selected supplements. It sounds counterintuitive, but it leaves the skin clean and soft. I warm a few drops of my facial oil between my fingers and press it on my face after toning in the morning. You may not need to exfoliate your skin every day, but three to four times a week is a must for acne-prone skin. If it’s oily and acne-prone, you might also want to add back a little oil – just a drop of tea tree oil in your moisturizer will help it fight your acne as it moisturizes your face. Rated 5 out of 5 by birdy amazing I had a bad acne break out and i wanted something natural and this stuff works like a charm. The spot treatment doesn't smell great but i don't care because it helps my skin. The stuff also smells worse than any other product I've stuck on my face, and I don't feel clean after I use it. The moisturizer is also very liquidy, and it doesn't rub into my skin well at all. Rated 5 out of 5 by mama2j09 Love the results I had tried the 3 step regimen kit and I have to say, I absolutely love it! The cleanser didn't irritate my skin or dry it out, the moisturizer was amazing and the spot treatment cleared up my blemishes fast! You ever read something that someone else do and you may try it out but after the first time you know, there’s nooo way you’re gonna keep that up. I have a morning skin care routine and a Night skin care routine. Step 1: Using clean hands, I lather some of the African Black Soap into my hands and massage it into my face. I then get out my rotating facial brush and let it work it in over my whole face (takes about 2-3 minutes.) Then I just wash off the black soap with a wash cloth I’ve ran under hot water. Once all the soap is removed, rinse the wash cloth off under some more hot water and put aside. Using the same wash cloth, I run it under some more hot water, and wash off the honey. My skin has never looked better and the compliments I have gotten have been insane! After 2 days, I had someone come up to me and say my face looked so radiant and asked for my secret. Well now y’all know it 😀 I hope you enjoy my Natural Skin Care Regimen and hope you give it a try.

Plus, I don’t have to worry about the aluminum that is in anti-perspirants and has been linked to breast cancer. Through the years, I’ve spent a lot of money trying out different products to deal with acne, blackheads, and oily skin. To start out, I researched a lot about natural skincare and learned about the oil cleansing method (where you actually use oil to cleanse your face), read about different kinds of oils, and found different resources for cosmetic compound developments. I decided that I wanted to try a combination of oil cleansing, all natural skin exfoliant, and the old fashioned method of using cold cream at night. The oil cleansing method relies on the theory that clean oil is the best way to draw out the dirt and oil that clogs pores. My next step in developing my own skincare was deciding what kinds of oil to use, I’ve read about the benefits of grape seed oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), and extra virgin coconut oil (EVCO) for your skin. I kept all of this in mind while developing my skincare routine, and still decided to stick with using extra virgin coconut oil on my face, while mixing it with other products. I still wanted to use coconut oil to cleanse my face, though, so I thought the best compromise would be to combine coconut oil with other elements to clean and exfoliate my skin. The natural skincare regimen I decided on starts out with the old housewife tradition of nightly removing makeup with cold cream. (read recipe below) To remove my makeup, I use my hand to apply the cold cream all over my face (except my eyes, more on that later), and then use a clean, slightly damp washcloth to wipe it all off. On days I don’t wear makeup, I just skip to the next step up gently scrubbing my face with the exfolient I made Then I apply a very light coat of the cold cream and allow it to sit greasily on my face all night, which softens my skin, reduces the appearance of scars and fine lines, and also reduces my skin’s tendency to overproduce oil. In the morning I just dab at my face with a warm, damp washcloth and apply my makeup as usual. I moisten a cotton ball with this solution, wipe it across my eyes until all of the makeup is removed, and then begin the rest of my skincare regimen as mentioned in the above paragraph.
All Natural Skin Care Regimen. Last year I tried the Oil Cleansing Method and it was a DISASTER! Basically, you use a mixture of natural and essential oils, applied directly to the skin to remove dirt, bacteria and other impurities. Although this may seem counter intuitive to most of the things you have heard about skin care and what they tell you in the acne commercials, its true. The majority of those products strip your skin of everything . Your skin naturally produces oil because it needs it, it’s there to benefit your skin. Not only does your natural oil help lubricate, it also heals, protects and moisturizes your skin so that it will function properly. Oils such as castor oil actually draw out and dissolve the impurities, dead skin cells, bacteria, etc. from your skin that can lead to acne. I tried this for about 3 months and it worked pretty well for the first month but then my skin protested HARD. I was so sad that my natural skin care experiment failed. But I was determined to learn more about my skin and try again. This time, armed with a bit of research and better knowledge of my body and skin, I decided to try the following: I know its a bit harsh, but my skin is extremely oily and since it responded well to Proactive which basically strips everything from your face with chemicals, I figured black soap would be a good natural alternative. I think I’m going to add a scented oil to it this time because the ACV smell is something else!

Enessa Clove Acne Control is a secret blend of clove oil and other essential oils in a base of jojoba oil. Do not go out and by a bottle of clove essential oil and think it will do the same thing.
