Anti aging skin care routine 40s

5 Anti - Aging Products for your 40's - Skin Care Advice and

If you have worn sunscreen and have been taking care of your skin up until now, chances are you have aged well, but at some point, we are all going to get fine lines, crow’s feet, dryness, and baggy eyes. (And they don't even require a scalpel!) Even if you didn’t prepare for your forties by following a strict skin care routine in your twenties and thirties, you can still start a healthy anti-aging routine now. Using a night cream is almost always recommended (unless you have very oily skin), but as you age it becomes even more important. As mentioned above, it’s important to hydrate your skin, especially under the eyes. Sunscreen is essential to preventing damage from the sun, even if you do not spend much time outside. Simply performing every day activities outside or walking to and from work is enough exposure to damage your skin and cause signs of aging. Protect yourself from wrinkles, sun spots, and other signs of aging by always using a product with at least broad spectrum SPF 15 (we use SPF 30). We've been using Skin Authority's Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 30 and totally recommend it. If you have sun spots, age spots, or other discoloration, get a good hyperpigmentation cream such as Skin Ceutical Pigment Regulator , which uses proven lightener hydroquinone. Be sure to treat the spots each day in order to lighten them, and then use a good sunblock to prevent further damage. Remember, aging can cause hyperpigmentation even if you protect yourself from the sun, so don't beat yourself up over these spots if you were careful in the sun. All retinols work to eliminate wrinkles and signs of aging, and many dermatologists recommend retinols for all age groups. If you begin using a retinol product, be sure to avoid the sun as much as possible and to wear SPF 30 or higher anytime you go outside. Retinols make the skin more susceptible to sun damage, which can in turn cause more signs of aging. Your skin may not react well to retinols at first, so ease them into your routine slowly and be sure to moisturize thoroughly while using them. more...

Skin Regimen For 40s - Beauty and Health Answers

Skin care regimen during your 40s aims to reduce the signs of aging skin and to prevent the formation of new ones. UV rays break down collagen and induce wrinkles and skin damage. Sun damage includes age spots , wrinkles, discoloration, and skin cancer. A mild and creamy cleanser should be used to avoid making the problem of dry skin worse.  Also, you should not use astringent skin care products. To smooth skin texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and get glowing skin, you should consider retinoids. To use retinoids for wrinkles and aging skin , you need to start applying a retinoid such as retin A less often in the first two weeks to avoid redness and peeling. After your skin adjusts to the product, you can use it more often and build up to daily use. If you have age spots, uneven skin tone, and blotchiness, you should use hydroquinone. Such creams slowly increase collagen production, exfoliate the outer layer of the skin, and stimulate cell turnover while causing less irritation than retinoids. An eye cream helps hydrate the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and treat puffy eyes. During 40s, your skin is thinner and more sensitive to the sun. more...

However, if you can make time to pour a glass of wine and curl up to watch TV, you can manage to scrub off the makeup, pollution, and grime that have accumulated during the day. (Despite its "oily" name, it won’t clog pores.) Note: If you can only bring yourself to cleanse your face once a day, do it in the evening, when skin is dirtiest. You’ll slough off dead cells, making the skin look smoother and enabling better penetration of your daytime products. Sunscreen not only helps prevent skin cancer, it "minimizes your skin’s exposure to free radicals in UV rays, which cause the breakdown of collagen," says Vivian Bucay, MD, a San Antonio dermatologist and melanoma survivor. To save time and money — and space in your medicine cabinet — it’s smart to opt for a formula that’s also hydrating, since most of us need a moisturizer during the day. This is an incredibly important step because if you buy products that aren't appropriate for your skin, they will be incredibly ineffective, and may worsen the situation. Dry Skin-If your skin feels very tight and is noticeably flaky in areas, then you have dry skin. If your face is visibly shiny, and literally feels slightly wet to the touch then you have oily skin. If you have oily skin, you should tone, exfoliate, use a spot treatment, and lightly moisturize once in a while. If you have combination skin, you tend to get oily around your nose, chin, and forehead area, and dry around your cheeks.
