Korean Skin Care and Makeup. Why You Should Ride the Korean Beauty Wave. The Korean beauty market is a prolific place for trends, from brightening skin care and BB creams to eyelash extensions and, yes, even plastic surgery. "And based off our feedback, I think other people are sharing this passion, too." After living in Seoul, Lee discovered the dedication Korean women have to their skin care routines, and she's sharing her insights on Korean beauty trends and what's in it for you. "For example, the Samsung and LG electronics, mobile phones, and TVs have built this trust with the Korean brand, so people in general have a growing trust in Korean goods. The emergence of luxury cosmetics like SK-II and Amore Pacific have also helped Asian skin care brands as well. And I also think in this globalized world where we have access to everything, people hear about Korean cosmetics and are interested in trying them." "A lot of the products that are popular in Korea are actually very inexpensive, and I think customers appreciate a midrange price for cosmetics.
Basically, these splash masks are unlike any mask you've tried before, mainly because they come in liquid form and take all of 15 to 30 seconds to use (meaning that I could have been on time to those parties). The masks are a blend of botanical extracts and lactic acid, which helps to re-texturize your skin. To use this mask, you mix about a capful of the stuff with a bowl of water, and then splash (as the name suggests) the mixture on your face for under half a minute, rinse, and boom—you're done. If you are mess-prone or just really not into adding extra dirty dishes to the ever-growing pile in your sink, you can also take the mask into your shower, pour a capful of product into your palms, and pat onto your face for 20 seconds or so. The video below shows just how to use the mask, with music, graphics, and all. Results included soft, radiant, and glow-y skin, and the masks have been selling out at glowrecipe.com . Blithe Splash Masks come in soothing and healing green tea, (energizing) yellow citrus and honey, and rejuvenating purple berry, with green tea as the fan favorite.
This one is focused on my nighttime skincare routine, using all Korean skincare products, and following the typical Korean skincare routine. It’s wintertime now, so my skincare routine is focused on getting the most amount of moisture into my skin as possible. I use one pump and massage it into my slightly damp skin. I use this one when I feel like my skin is extra dry or dull, as it’s a very moisturizing toner. If it’s around that time of the month, or I feel like my skin might be having some issues, I use the AC Care Water Essence, which I reviewed here . Before Winter really hit, I was using the AC Care Bee’s Cure Serum and the Repair Complex as my serum and emulsion, but I found that my skin didn’t feel moisturized enough (winter is rough), so I switched to the Missha Super Aqua Marine Cell Intensive Serum and Control Emulsion. I pump the serum into my hands, rub them together and gently pat it on my face. My nighttime routine is when I pile on the moisture, so that’s why I use both a cream and sometimes a sleeping pack. I use the Missha Super Aqua Ultra Water-Full Cream, which was totally an impulse buy after the sales woman tested a bit on my hand and I sort of melted. It’s perfect for people with dry skin, or for people who want a little moisture boost in the winter. I like this cream so much I actually use it in the daytime too. After applying my cream, I will sometimes opt to add just that extra layer of moisture and use my Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Deep Moisture Sleeping Pack. And I know some people may think that my skin must look like an oil spill by the time I go to bed, but nope. That’s the beauty of Korean products, they all seem to magically absorb into my skin, instead of just sitting on top of it.

As you all know, I have oily skin so many of these products are more suitable for oily skin-but I added some of my favorite dry skin winners at the end of the list just for everyone else. This one is more or less at an effective p H (you will feel the burn! Once again, Beauteque's pricing is on point and I highly suggest you give this one a try. I used the entire special set of this line for a few months despite the fact that I have oily skin and I loved it up until I moved to Hawaii. Hawaii is too hot to use this with oily skin, but the treatment step still remains one of my favorite products from this line. This cream is quite possibly the best oil control cream I've tried from Korea. I promise a review will come soon for this one. Keep in mind, this is the LIGHT version with pink packaging, and it is intended for oily skin. This is best for people with oily skin who need oil control (and works well as a makeup base), or for people who will be sweating in the sun. This cream prevents scar formation if you apply it immediately after you've popped a blemish, and will reduces the redness and healing time to nil! The cooling factor is insane with this one, and the clay doesn't get hard and crusty like some of those other mud masks so it doesn't dry my skin out too much. For me, this balm is a game changer in the oil control world. For dry skin in the winter, my personal favorite has been Seatree .
*You just have to use the cotton sheet provided inside to wipe off your black and white heads* This is the cotton sheet given for *step 2*, nothing much, you just have to use it to wipe off the excessive dirt from your face. Overall: The pros I must say that it is very easy to use, as you just have to use the cotton sheet given to wipe off the black and white heads, but SADLY, it doesn't work at all for me. Pros: Affordable (because it is on sales) & the only effect I see on my skin is hydrating and nothing more than that I would say. I get this from The Sops (Publika Mall), so far I have only tried the Egg Peel off Pack and I love it! Packaging: Cool because each pack comes with 3 pairs of eye mask and you can reseal it after you use it and keep it for the next usage! These are the BB Cream I have in my current collection (all from Korea as well) =) As you can see the first BB cream (Skin Food), the coverage is very low and it is water based as it design to hydrate your skin! For the second BB cream( Etude House), the coverage is medium to full, and it is in skin color. For the third BB Cream (An Premium), the coverage is high and the texture is very thick, and a little grayish in color, when you further blend it it will finish off in natural skin tone color to suits your own skin tone. Comments: Yes, I love this product because after cleansing with this cleansing gel you will feel your skin is smooth and it is also soothes your skin, suitable for sensitive skin as well.
The first is taking better care of my skin. It seems clear that Investing in your skin works like an ISA, it will pay off in the long run if you start as soon as you can. Did you know that the average Korean woman uses 18 products per day on her skin! I'l break these products down for you so you can see for yourself what does what, and most importantly the correct process! This is the first stage of the process and one that we are all quite familar with. Once your skin is completley make up free you need to tighten the pores and remove all the dead cells and leftover residue from the cleanser. I have included these together and will explain the difference. The difference between the two is moisturisers have larger molecules, and serums / essences have smaller ones meaning they can penetrate the skin and work from the inside. The difference between an essence and a serum is the consistency. I would recommend using essence as part of your morning routine, as it's easily absorbed into the skin and lighter than a serum. This step is great for the dry winter months as these products deliver deep hydration for skin. First you need to understand your skin type then the rest is trial and error!

While many Western toners are designed to simply balance your skin's p H levels, many Asian toners aim to do that AND hydrate the skin with nutrients. I like to think that this is THE product to use when you're unhappy or unsatisfied with your skin in someway. Okay, so emulsion may not be for everyone, so depending on the season and/or your skin type, you may or may not need to use am emulsion. If you have oily skin, you may not need to use emulsions in your daily skin care routine. That way, your skin can heal while you sleep (which is, by the way, super important to your skincare routine!), and you wake up with beautiful, radiant skin :) You would use the exfoliator or peel after your gentle cleanser and before your toner. Sheet masks are great for any skin types, and should be used depending on your skin type. Depending on the season, the condition of your skin, etc., you may want to use sheet masks 1-3 times a week.
