30's Skincare : A Beginning Anti - Aging Regimen

Skin Care in Your 30s. In your 30s, your complexion might appear uneven, rough and less radiant. Make sure to keep up with your basic skin care routine and be consistent. Continue protecting your skin from premature aging and sun damage with sunscreen. Like retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) help generate collagen, smooth lines and even out your complexion. Protect and treat the eyes. As a 30-something, you should introduce an eye cream into your nightly routine. Continue protecting the eye area with sunscreen if your eye cream doesn’t contain SPF. Handle your hands with care. With thinning skin and loss of moisture, hands begin to appear older and can reveal your true age (or worse, add years to it!). Neglecting your hands can lead to sun spots, discoloration and dry skin. If you haven’t done so already, add these steps to your routine. This helps your hands look younger and smoother and allows moisturizer to penetrate better. Always apply sunscreen on your hands (and other exposed areas, like the neck and chest). more...

Anti - Aging Skin Care Routine for a 30 - Year - Old Woman

Everyone ages, but it's possible to slow down the signs by incorporating a good skin care routine into your daily habits. Follow these do's to prevent the initial telltale signs of aging skin: The number-one thing you can do to keep your skin smooth, supple and line-free is to stay out of the sun. The sun can dehydrate your skin and cause dark age spots. These foods keep you healthy, which in turn helps your skin look good. Not only does it help you keep your weight down, but it helps you avoid the skin sagging that can come with dieting. Nothing refreshes the skin like a good night's sleep. These harmful free radicals can age the skin. The eye area is incredibly delicate, tears easily and doesn't provide moisture to the skin. Repeatedly rubbing your face causes the skin to loosen and sag. These products are gentle on the skin and can prevent tearing. As the skin ages, it tends to lose moisture in the skin. High-end moisturizers help get the moisture back into the skin. No matter the moisturizer you choos e , apply to the skin in a gentle manner, and leave it on for a few hours. Next, evaluate how it feels on the skin. more...

30 years old female with acne - Adult acne

4 month later, after i stop the pill, still have acne, i when to see the dermatologist and he prescript me doxycyl 100 Mg cap, erythromycin and differin for 2 month. What is the best for me antiobiotic or birth control? Mostly because of the female cancers that run in my family but a low estrogen BC pill might help. The only one that I took that helped was Yaz. Even then, it only got rid of the monster zits and I still had closed comedones. Day and Night: Aquaphor on lips and spots for healing. Before that I was on Doxyclcine and Differin, but I wasn't that consistent with differin and BP. But talk to your doctor about the interaction of antibiotics and oral birth control! Antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives! If you use oral birth control and are sexually active you will need a different method. In the interests of well, humans everywhere, antibiotics should always be a last resort and really should only be prescribed in situations where there is a danger to life, development or where there is certainty that infection can be contained in no other way. More complicated than that I believe but thats the basic run down. Could be that the pill you were on was progestogen dominant (these can have a tendency to cause breakouts). Antibiotics seriously disrupt the gut balance and can lead to candida overgrowth/thrush etc. more...

A skincare regimen for 30 - somethings - Truth In Aging

I am in my 30s, was trying to cheer myself up looking for something new to buy and browsing your site made me think it would be great if you could put together a basic regimen that covers all the bases and is right for my age. The first things that come to mind – since you mentioned that you were in need of cheering up (and in November, who doesn't?) – are brightening and pampering. You are in need of an exfoliating mask – and so are most 30-somethings. It is in your 30s that your skin starts to look a little gray and washed out. A weekly, gentle exfoliating mask will give you a brighter complexion, refine your skin tone and help close enlarged pores. I would go for La Vie Celeste’s glycolic mask, it has mostly natural ingredients and a 5% glycolic concentration that is just enough to give you a glow ( read our reader review ).  If your skin is prone to breakouts, then Epicuren’s Discovery Milk  Cleanser ($22) is very helpful with vitamin E and kukui nut oil ( read the full review ). If funds permit and that objective appraisal of your skin condition concludes that heavier guns are needed, then I would suggest Your Best Face Restore with vitamin C and alpha arbutin for brightening the skin ( read our 30-year old tester’s review ). I also think that a major problem 30-somethings face is the beginning of gradual thinning and loss of moisture and elasticity of the skin. Next thing you know, you wake up and the wrinkles from the night won't go away. The best thing I have found so far and and am very happy with the results is hyaluronic acid. With the winter here and the alternating dry hot air inside and dry cold air outside, the skin around my eyes needs some extra moisture. A topical hyaluronic acid cream will help your skin retain moisture and look plumper too. more...

The best tips and products for treating grown-up breakouts. Braces and angst are two things most of us can happily leave behind in our adolescence; acne, less so. In fact, breakouts are seemingly becoming more common later in life: Studies published in Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology note that 50 percent of women will suffer from acne at some point in their adult years, and that the median age of those afflicted has increased from 20.5 to 26.5 years old. Younger acne will most always involve T-zone-centric blackheads and whiteheads, while adult acne hits around the jawline and neck, and often shows up as painful cysts and nodules. Are You Starting To Use Anti Aging Products Too Soon

Let’s say that you’re “technically young” (so, in your early twenties, though we could argue—to the teeth!—that the thirties are still “technically young,” but for the purpose of this exercise, let’s say your twenties) and have assembled something of a skincare regimen. (I have friends who never take painkillers for this reason, and also avoid antibiotics unless under severe duress.) I wondered if the same applied to skincare. Their answers and advice varied, with the exception of the following tip: wear sunscreen. Plus, they can be way too harsh on the skin, even if you don’t feel the redness. We did research on [chemical] peels, too, and, like I said, the worst thing to do is thin out the skin. But there’s two types of aging of the skin: intrinsic aging, which would happen if you lived in a vacuum or a bubble, and then there’s extrinsic, which is sun-exposure and smoking, which accelerate your skin’s break-down. I’m a believer in prevention, even in your twenties, so that you can age gracefully and naturally, versus trying to reverse the signs of UV exposure or smoking later on. But it can also be incredibly sensitizing, making your skin very dry and sensitive to the sun. Keep it to the basics: sunscreen every day, and sunglasses, too. “I’ve been in practice for 11 years and it’s the first time in 11 years that I’ve called the company to tell them how impressed I am with a product. Does that mean we can grab the nearest baby and slather them in Olay? “Vitamin-A derivatives [like retinol and the widely prescribed Retin-A] are strong molecules that focus on short-term results, overstimulating the skin without considering the long-term consequences. If you take the sum total of what was said, it's not that it's too early to think about aging—and I acknowledge this was a long piece, and you probably feel like you've aged a bit since you started it; I hope your brow remained un-furrowed throughout, and there was little-to-no squinting—it's just about thinking clearly, and making smart choices. So rethink all of those harsh anti-agers with immediate effects and long-term issues that you've squirreled away, my friends, and pick up some of the new science (and some SPF!). more...
