Tip: Clinical studies show that antioxidants such as vitamins C and E help to fend off the kind of free radicals found in UV rays — and improve your sunscreen’s ability to do the same.
Today I’m excited to be teaming up with Nordstrom to share with you my daily skin care routine. I apply Kiehl’s Creme de Corps to my body right after I shower, that way by the time my hair and makeup are done, the lotion has absorbed and doesn’t get all over my clothes. I wash my face with the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser . I apply Créme de La Mer to my face and neck (in my opinion this moisturizer is worth of every penny, It’s the only one I’ve used that hasn’t made my face oily or breakout). I apply Laura Mercier Primer to my face before I put my foundation on. I’ve noticed the biggest difference in my skin since using a primer! I wash my face and neck with my cleanser and Clarisonic Mia . I apply Estée Lauder Advanced Night Serum to my face and neck. If you have any questions about any of the products used or my routine, leave a comment below :)
Skin Care in Your 30s. In your 30s, your complexion might appear uneven, rough and less radiant. Make sure to keep up with your basic skin care routine and be consistent. Continue protecting your skin from premature aging and sun damage with sunscreen. Like retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) help generate collagen, smooth lines and even out your complexion. Protect and treat the eyes. As a 30-something, you should introduce an eye cream into your nightly routine. Continue protecting the eye area with sunscreen if your eye cream doesn’t contain SPF. Handle your hands with care. With thinning skin and loss of moisture, hands begin to appear older and can reveal your true age (or worse, add years to it!). Neglecting your hands can lead to sun spots, discoloration and dry skin. If you haven’t done so already, add these steps to your routine. This helps your hands look younger and smoother and allows moisturizer to penetrate better. Always apply sunscreen on your hands (and other exposed areas, like the neck and chest).
Do you have dry, tight and sensitive skin on your face? By simply developing a quick skin care routine, to help dry skin from the inside and out, your skin will feel great and be moisturized but not oily in no time. Then you can use a toner, as they are said to help moisturiser soak in, but some can be harsh and dry out the skin. If you have any special creams for dry patches, now's the time to apply them, before picking a thin daily moisturiser for sensitive skin. This will help protect your skin, and if you choose a moisturising cream for dry and sensitive skin, it will also help keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Drinking water re-hydrates the skin from the inside, and even if you all ready have a drink with you, some extra liquid won't do any harm. During the rest of the day, eat healthily, drink loads, and keep on top of your dry skin by moisturising all the time. Using one of these will soak in during the night, and nourish it while you sleep, leaving your skin feeling more moisturised in the morning. But for people with dry skin, exfoliators can be harsh and drying for the skin. It brightens the skin, gets rid of dark circles under your eyes, and refreshes your skin while you sleep. Are you on the way to school/work while reading this and have dry skin but haven't done any of the above? As water is one of the key things for moisturised, hydrated skin, whenever you use moisturiser, splash your face first, and without petting it dry, apply your moisturiser. If your skin is really dry and doesn't seem to be improving, you might have a skin condition such as eczema. Do you have dry patches on your skin, but also oily areas?
The Ultimate Anti-Aging Skin Care Routine! Here are the top 4 things you can do for your skin to prevent premature aging: Antioxidant-rich foods like spinach, tomatoes, blueberries, salmon and nuts have a protective effect for the skin. On the flip side, a diet high in processed or refined carbohydrates and unhealthy fats promotes skin aging. Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger skin problems. And the most IMPORTANT thing you can do for your skin to prevent premature aging is develop good skin care habits. The skin here tends to be thinner, drier and more sensitive. Keeping your skin hydrated reduces the appearance of fine lines, and controls oil production. Serums have a higher concentration of active ingredients and penetrate deeper to help repair your skin. A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to Skin Beautiful Dermaceuticals and told you about their unique approach to skincare that included daily “ affirmacizes ” to help you enhance your beauty from the INSIDE OUT. My skin feels hydrated and invigorated after I use them, and my makeup looks so much nicer when I apply it after using the serums. Yikes!)…one I took before starting the Skin Beautiful products, and one taken today. Taking good care of yourself is the most important step in your anti-aging skin care program.
