Daily Skin Care Tips

Here are a few simple things you can do to ensure you’ll look your very best now and for years down the road. Cleansing your skin is really the foundation of a healthy skin care routine. Wash at night to remove makeup and debris with a cleanser for your skin type. Cleanse by using a dime-size amount of cleanser and rinsing your skin with lukewarm water. Microdermabrasion, retinoids, and chemical peels are all great methods by which to exfoliate your skin by removing the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Each is also available for in-home use if you are unable to afford treatments at a spa, so try one of these at home and you’ll notice that your skin is not only clean, but also glowing. Stick with what makes your skin look the best for you. Moisturizing your skin is a wonderful way to remain looking young and have soft skin as well. If your hair appears healthy, you look younger. When you shampoo your scalp and hair, use your fingertips to scrub your scalp thoroughly to loosen up dirt, oils, and debris. Before going to bed each night, be sure to brush your hair to remove tangles and redistribute natural oils in the hair. Believe it or not, proper nutrition and ample amounts of rest contribute to healthy skin and hair, so make sure to get the proper amounts of vitamins, minerals and nutrients in your food or via supplements. As you can see, it is really quite simple to look young, healthy and beautiful if you just take care of your hair and the skin you’re in right now. more...

If you have to touch your face, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water - or alternatively, use a face towel. Determine your skin type and buy skin care products to suit your skin type. This is an incredibly important step because if you buy products that aren't appropriate for your skin, they will be incredibly ineffective, and may worsen the situation. Dry Skin-If your skin feels very tight and is noticeably flaky in areas, then you have dry skin. If your face is visibly shiny, and literally feels slightly wet to the touch then you have oily skin. If you have oily skin, you should tone, exfoliate, use a spot treatment, and lightly moisturize once in a while. If you have combination skin, you tend to get oily around your nose, chin, and forehead area, and dry around your cheeks. If you have sensitive skin, use a moisturizer, cleanser, and spot treatment all suitable for sensitive skin. Apply the cleanser and massage it into your skin in upwards, circular motions. By restoring your skin to its natural p H, you also make it more resistant against bacteria and micro-organisms. So after cleansing and toning you should moisturize with a face moisturizer for your skin type. If you haven't applied enough moisturizer and your skin still feels a little tight, then apply a bit more. Your skin needs to get used to the frequency of being treated, and to the products you're using. more...

My Daily Skin Care Routine - 2/10/14

I have oily/combination skin, as most Asians do, and where I come from the winter is very drying for my skin. A plus of this cleanser is that it is made without parabens, sulfates, and phthlates, so it is gentle on the skin. Tea is also known to soothe and calm the skin. This toner is really good for winter AND summer because it soothes redness and fights pimples without over-drying your skin. I would be cautious if you're someone with dry or sensitive skin, as the tea tree may be a bit too drying for dry skin and may be a bit strong for sensitive skin. The grapefruit water contains a lot of Vitamin C, which brightens your complexion and promotes collagen production, which is essential for youthful skin. Due to grapefruit's fruit acidity, this ingredient also has antibacterial properties, and is good for controlling oil production. I recommend this product for everyone and anyone. I think this stuff is a miracle-maker, and it has worked amazingly for me. This moisturizer is heavily endorsed by my K-idol, Bae Suzy, and is awesome for the hot and humid summer season. Vitamin B 3 is responsible for soothing the skin with its anti-inflammatory properties and zinc helps to control oil production. Personally, I think it is a bit heavy to use as a morning moisturizer in the summer because I have oily skin, but if you have dry skin or even normal skin, then this may work well for you. Some emulsions are more watery than this one, but I was between choosing this emulsion and the cream from the same IOPE line. Locust tree flower helps to soothe and calm inflammation of the skin. Tea tree leaf oil is one of the best natural remedies for acne, as it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. more...

Otherwise you can apply potato which will remove the oil from the skin and the dust particles + gives you a glow . Also if you are of college age and healthy , outdoors alot with already oily skin you really do not need a moisturizer - especially if you are using a sunscreen as that is probably cream based. Best daily skin care routine for oily skin

Skin Care Routine for Oily, Acne Prone Skin. In my opinion, oily skin is the hardest skin type to take care of. Oil is not your enemy, it is a necessary thing for your skin. The use of a harsh product will only make your skin produce more oil. If you don’t moisturize you will get flaky skin on top of your oily skin. I’m not saying that you will go from oily skin to normal skin just by using different products. I’m saying you can get more control on your oil production and begin to even out your skin tone. Exfoliating too much will irritate your skin, and can spread the oil around and create more break outs. In that case use a cleanser “for all skin types”. If you are extremely oily get a moisturizer that is “oil free”. With oily skin, the excess oil will mix with the dead skin and settle in your pores (sorry if that is a gross image, but it’s true). This will soak up all extra oil without drying you out or stripping your skin. Even though you are oily and you may think you don’t need that heavy cream by your eyes- you do! The skin around the eye area is different from the rest of your face and it doesn’t produce oil the same. more...

Anti - Aging Minimal Skin Care Routine

You can simplify your daily anti-aging routine and still look great. "In the morning, you have oil and dust on your face from sleeping, and in the evening, you have to wash off sunscreen , makeup , dirt, and pollen ," says Amy Derick, MD, a dermatologist in Barrington, Ill. She suggests that you go easy on your skin, too. "Avoid the scrubs with large beads that have irregular shapes that can irritate your skin." "These are mildly irritating to the skin, so you have to strike the right balance between getting the job done without peeling or causing a rash ," Derick says. Wear sunscreen , too, as these can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. When you get out of the shower in the morning, and after you wash your face at night, use a moisturizer right away to lock the water in your skin, preferably a cream over a lotion, says Doris Day, MD, author of Forget the Face Lift . This helps your skin look soft and smooth, which can help minimize the appearance of wrinkles . "You have to wear sunscreen every day," Derick says. more...

Saving face 101 : How to customize your skin care routine

10, 2009) —Finding the right skin care routine starts with understanding the unique needs of your skin type. Over time, a careful and consistent skin care routine with products designed for specific skin types can gradually improve the overall health and appearance of the skin.” For many people, their skin has areas that are dry and oily, which is classified as combination skin. She suggests applying a moisturizer with sunscreen once a day right after cleansing while the skin is still damp, as this can help seal in moisture. Since dry skin can be sensitive, gentle retinols should be applied sparingly to start – such as every other night – along with a moisturizing cream to help even skin tone, texture and color while continuing to hydrate the skin. She added that for skin that is prone to acne, avoiding products with cocoa butter, cinnamon and coconut oil will help prevent breakouts. “Your dermatologist can help recommend gentle and effective products that work together to improve the appearance of oily skin and help prevent acne,” said Dr. Badreshia-Bansal noted that exfoliation is not necessary and can worsen already sensitive skin. For people with skin of color, there are differences in skin anatomy, physiology, and function that can influence how skin care products react with the skin. Creams and lotions applied after showering when the skin is slightly damp can help lock in moisture. Badreshia-Bansal cautioned that patients should be careful not to over-irritate the skin with these products, which can worsen discoloration and acne, particularly in skin of color. Badreshia-Bansal finds that a few simple skin care tips can be beneficial in improving the overall appearance and health of the skin. “I recommend keeping the skin care routine very simple, being very gentle with your skin, and avoid irritating, over-washing and over-scrubbing the face,” said Dr. “Finding moisturizers that contain sunscreen in a single combination product does the job of two products and are excellent for all skin types. The key is to find the skin care routine and appropriate products that work the best for your individual skin type, which is where your dermatologist can help get you started.” more...

How to Create a Natural Skin Care Routine - Wellness Mama

In general, the natural oil cleansing method is a great solution for any skin type, though the combinations of oils varies based on skin type (see below). The best combination of natural skin care options varies based on skin types: Switching to gentle and natural skin care options often goes a long way toward removing excess oil production, but in the meantime, there are some natural ingredients that can help prevent breakouts and remove excess oil.
