I still use the Protective Lotion occasionally when I don't have time to put on both the jojoba oil and sunscreen. If you have skin problems, going to a doctor and actually having things checked out can really help. I can have bad acne that makes my skin horribly inflamed and painful and the yogurt mask definitely helped calm it down. All that stuff in the various orange and white, or green and white, bottles, that basically has 2-3% salycilic acid in it and from my experience makes your skin feel nice to the touch but is about damn worthless for fighting acne or blemishes. In the winter (or for drier skin generally) you can just wipe it off instead of rinsing. But the benzoyl peroxide works well, especially if you put it on before you shower, and leave it on for about 5 minutes. I actually have fairly oily skin, especially on my face, so i need to try and find something for that. I have combination skin, so I only use it at night and moisturize in the morning, but if you have quite oily skin it might be good as a consistent face soap. Toner is bullshit for people with ordinary skin, but for the ordinary acne and flaky skin prone, a cleanser, lotion or sunscreen with salicylic acid or some other alpha hydroxy acid will help. Many of them are astringent and dry out or irritate the skin. Moisturiser: If you have combination skin, the oily areas don't need moisturiser. If you need moisturiser on both the dry and oily areas of the skin it should probably be two separate products. It's never too early to take care of your skin and it is important to tailor your approach to your needs, including that of your age. Caroline's top tip is two-pronged: "Use your ring finger and gently apply a fine layer of the Simple Age Resisting Eye Cream in the hollow under the eye.

A cleanser should be the first step of your skincare routine. It ensures that you’re starting off with a clean slate, removing makeup as well as dirt and oil that can attach to your face throughout the day. It also exfoliates, allowing your skin to absorb all the good stuff from the your products (making your skincare routine work as effectively as possible). Toners remove the excess oil and makeup that your cleanser may miss. If your cleanser doesn’t include a toner (philosophy’s does), than you should use a separate toning product after cleansing. After cleansing and toning, it’s time to apply a serum, which is a concentrated treatment. Serums boost the effectiveness of your skincare products and improve your skin’s overall health by increasing your skin’s moisture levels, increasing brightness, or stimulating your skin’s ability to produce collagen (more collagen means firmer, healthier looking skin!) They also infuse your skin with vitamins A (retinol), C and E. Serums are used morning and night right after cleansing your face, and are applied by gently pressing into the skin.
