The Body Shop's fair-trade certified Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub is a daily face wash for oily skin that uses the natural benefits of tea tree oil to help clear blackheads. It also leaves your skin feeling clean and tingly. It also contains salicylic acid, which is a proven acne-fighting ingredient, and it's safe to use daily. Olay's Salicylic Acid Acne and Blackhead Treatment exfoliates to rid skin of blackheads and blemishes. Neutrogena's Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub combines the acne-fighting ingredient salicylic acid with gentle micro-beads to give your skin a thorough exfoliation. Clean and Clear: Blackhead Eraser Kit. The vibrations help loosen the buildup of oil and dead skin cells in the pores. St Ives: Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead. The salicylic acid gets deep down in your pores, minimizing blackheads and blemishes. They unclog and extracts the blackheads from your skin, and you can literally see the results.
These badass gel-like blemish stickers keep you from picking at/popping your pimples and contain salicylic acid that helps break down dead skin and unplug clogged pores. To apply, peel the sticker from the backing sheet and pop it over your pimple before you go to sleep. First, you apply the blackhead/whitehead removal mask over clean skin, making sure it lays snug against your nose. During this step, the dead skin is broken down, which loosens the blackhead so it may be removed. OK, try not to get grossed out here, but snail mucus (the shiny slime that a snail leaves behind as it's going on its merry way) is actually super-hydrating to your skin: It promotes cellular turnover, it's healing, and it protects your skin's barrier from environmental elements like pollution, which is proven to break down collagen and elastin prematurely. "Putting this snail secretion-containing mask on your face will give you the results of going to a spa, but only in a matter of 15 minutes," Schook says. "Not only are you getting the hydration benefits from the snail mucus infused in the mask, there are other skin-plumping ingredients like glycerin, sea water, aloe extract, etc., that are being pushed deeper into your skin because a gel-like mask sits [and] sticks better onto the skin than a cloth mask." This heroic mask also contains ingredients like rosemary, which has antibacterial properties that help fight free radical damage (this can lead to premature aging and cell mutation, which can lead to skin cancer); melissa officinalis leaf extract, which is good for calming and brightening the skin; and hexapeptides that help build collagen. "This mask is fool-proof," Schook says, "because it won't dry out your skin if you leave it on too long, whereas cloth masks, once they deliver their ingredients and transfer the moisture onto your skin, can actually suck your own skin's moisture back out of your skin if left on too long, which is why you really have to stick to the time period that the packaging notates." This mask also contains shea butter, vitamin E, snail secretion, aloe, and beta-glucan, which is a yeast that dissolves dead skin cells. What's more, there isn't any water or fillers in this blend, which can breed bacteria over time; instead, glycerin is added to further hydrate the skin.

And one of the products was Skinmiso’s Pore Beauty Nose Pack ($21.99) and Comedo Remover ($14.99). After washing my face I put the strip on my nose and left it on for ten minutes. Those nose strips are usually really aggravating to the skin and can cause serious skin damage. And, using the extractor makes you feel like a professional dermatologist. Once you have extracted your blackheads and marveled at your almost-clear-of-gunk nose, it is time to put on the second strip. The strips stay on your nose pretty securely — so, you can walk around and go about your business without having to worry about it falling off. After ten minutes, your nose will be clean and clear. After that, you are to put on a few drops of the gel-like Silky Essence, which is your third and final step. This stuff will soak up any remaining oil, leaving your nose extremely matte and smooth. I loved this stuff, and will probably use it as a primer for my nose before applying my makeup as well. You can find out more about this product with more before and after photos at Wishtrend.com . The average Korean woman has easily more than ten products in her daily skin-care routine, and the country's philosophy of good skin dates back to the Dongui Bogam, a Korean medical text from the 1600s. Green tea: This natural wonder has long been touted for its countless health and beauty benefits, and now Korean brand Amore Pacific has perfected the science behind cultivating and extracting the most powerful benefits of EGCG, an antioxidant only found in green tea. All of the EGCG comes from green tea grown in fields on the Korean island of Jeju, which has the optimal climate for the most potent tea leaves. Ginseng: Used in traditional Eastern medicine, ginseng has many health and beauty benefits and is only found naturally in a few places in the world; Korea's ginseng is prized the most. Airless pumps: Another skin-care innovation that has taken the Korean market by storm is airless dispensing pumps. What makes this sort of packaging so special is that it keeps the product from being contaminated and oxidized.
Korean Skin Care. When it comes to Korean skin care, the women from this region have hundreds of years of history with caring for the skin in ways that get rid of wrinkles and create supple skin. Typical Korean skin care products contain a wide array of natural and exotic ingredients to maintain healthy skin. Basics of Korean Skin Care. In a typical Korean skin care routine the day should begin with drinking a tall glass of water, followed by an invigorating facial wash. A key ingredient in many Korean skin care products is snail slime. Birds nest is another ingredient in many Korean skin care products. The syn-ake line of beauty products in Korean skin care is an alternative version of what we know as Botox in the United States. Syn-ake does not need to be applied through injections, and is an ingredient in facial serums in Korean skin care products. In Korean skin care, bee venom has many of the same properties as syn-ake. Bee venom is often applied to the skin topically, as an ingredient in creams and moisturizers.

Blackheads and Whiteheads. Whiteheads and blackheads are both known as comedones. Comedones are actually the accumulation of sebum and skin cells collected within the hair follicles. They become stuck and fill the hair follicle, leading to breakout of blackheads. The difference between whiteheads and blackheads can be established by whether the hair follicle is open or closed. Contrary to the name, blackheads will not always be black in colour. The common areas where blackheads usually appear are your face, specifically the sides of your nose area. For some, blackheads may also appear on the ears, back and shoulders. Generally, whiteheads and blackheads can appear anywhere where there is a hair follicle. This may worsen the condition and lead to more breakouts. The trick to remove blackheads is to ensure that the pores are unplugged due to clogged pores . These ingredients will help to loosen the dead skin cells that are clogged in your hair follicles. Formulated with volcanic ingredient, the clay mask readily removes sebum and impurities from pores.
What Can You Do to Get Rid of Blackheads? To start getting rid of blackheads, you need products that can do all of the following: The Paula's Choice Research Team is here to show you the real and effective ways to treat and remove blackheads. Blackheads are too deep in the pore to be removed by surface scrubbing, and the irritation of the scrubbing can cause more oil production. Blackheads cannot be pulled out of the pore by using pore strips. Bar soap is a problem for fighting blackheads because the very ingredients that keep bar cleansers in their bar form can clog your pores. Here's what you can do to reduce and maybe even eliminate your blackheads: Extremely stubborn blackheads can be removed, but only by gently squeezing them out of the pore. If you look closely at the tip of your nose, you might see tiny dots that resemble blackheads. With Paula’s Choice Skincare, you can get (and keep) the best skin of your life!

Two of the most stubborn and hard-to-treat skincare problems are blackheads and enlarged pores. With normal oil production, the oil easily flows through the pore lining and out of the pore, imperceptibly spreading over the skin's surface. This excess oil mixes with other substances (such as dead skin cells) in the pore, causing a clog. Once this occurs and the material (oil and skin cells) at the end of the clogged pore is exposed to the air, it oxidizes, forming a blackhead. Check out the steps below to find out the best treatments for blackheads and enlarged pores! Irritating products stimulate more oil production directly in the pore. Gently exfoliating skin with a BHA can remove excess skin cells from the surface of the face (so they don't build up in the pore) and exfoliate inside the pore (to improve its shape), allowing for a more even flow of oil. Paula's Choice BHA products get rave reviews; click here to find the best one for your skin type. Prescription retinoids, such as Retin-A, Tazorac, Avita, Renova, and Differin can be effective for all skin types struggling with large pores. Giving skin the important ingredients it needs to look and be healthy is critical, but the trick for those with blackheads and large pores is to use only products with a gel, liquid, or very thin serum texture. For all skin types, AHA or BHA peels, microdermabrasion, and laser resurfacing can improve the appearance of blackheads and whiteheads. Be careful about the makeup you use and be sure to get it all off at night. With Paula’s Choice Skincare, you can get (and keep) the best skin of your life!
Here are the steps for a typical Korean skin care routine: Most people think toners are useless/overkill/drying to the skin, but if you pick the right toner for your skin type, it will be well worth your money. While many Western toners are designed to simply balance your skin's p H levels, many Asian toners aim to do that AND hydrate the skin with nutrients. I like to think that this is THE product to use when you're unhappy or unsatisfied with your skin in someway. Okay, so emulsion may not be for everyone, so depending on the season and/or your skin type, you may or may not need to use am emulsion. If you have oily skin, you may not need to use emulsions in your daily skin care routine. That way, your skin can heal while you sleep (which is, by the way, super important to your skincare routine!), and you wake up with beautiful, radiant skin :) You would use the exfoliator or peel after your gentle cleanser and before your toner. Sheet masks are great for any skin types, and should be used depending on your skin type. Depending on the season, the condition of your skin, etc., you may want to use sheet masks 1-3 times a week.

There was a time when the harvesting of these birds nests from their natural caves was ecologically devastating, but the days of cave harvesting are over. I was able to find research backing the skincare benefit claims of some of the individual components of a bird’s nest, but could find no research in English that studied the bird’s nest as a whole in terms of skincare benefits. But if the skincare benefits are as real as they seem, I certainly don’t want to miss out. Bee venom has been used for years to treat arthritis, back pain, and rheumatism, but as a skincare ingredient, it’s still a newcomer. The idea is that the skin benefits from it because of a compound contained in the venom called “melitten.” Melitten contains anti-inflammatory properties that are said to be stronger than hydrocortisone. I was unable to find a completed study specifically regarding the effects of bee venom in skincare. No doubt you’ve seen American products advertising stem cell technology, but the difference is that the stem cells in American products are plant derived. The skincare benefits of using these stem cells, sometimes called called RG 2, is increased cell regeneration and sun damage reversal. There have been many studies done on the efficacy of stem cell technology in skincare, and it looks as though the claims are true. Stem cell based skincare is huge in Korea, with many experts arguing that it’s the greatest innovation in skincare to date. It has the potential to be huge here, but there is a lot of controversy over stem cell research and usage in this country. Most products featuring Syn-ake are serums, although there are some skincare lines that feature moisturizing creams and emulsions containing the compound. Like bee venom, Syn-ake is touted as a Botox alternative, but what sets it apart is that there have actually been studies done on its safety and efficacy. What I’ve learned from all this is that I apparently have no boundaries when it comes to skincare.
The Japanese have always been known for their flawless skin and makeup secrets. The beauty secrets that lend the Geisha’s their soft and smooth skin are age old, passed on from generation to generation. This article lists the top 10 Japanese skin care products that can help you achieve that ravishing look: This mascara does not smudge at all and you will need a strong makeup remover for this, which is often sold by the same brand. But with Soft Whip, which happens to be a drugstore cleanser, the natural oils of the skin are left intact and yet the sebum which causes acne, pimples, and blackheads is successfully removed. The texture of the cleanser is soft, almost creamy and it lathers into soft wash foam when water is added to it. This wash is suitable for all skin types and is very popular in Japan. When you DHC’s Cleansing Oil to the face, its texture changes from oily to a smooth and almost creamy consistency that seeps into the skin and helps to melt off the makeup. To use it, you need to separate the cool sheet and apply it directly to the face. When removed, the skin will be left feeling radiant and smooth. Their tips are better than others as they are denser and the stems are thicker. They are denser and less fluffy and when swiped on the eye shadow, they pick up the colour easily and do not flake away. They retain the colour and do not smudge off easily. Cleansing is very important for a good complexion and these soft Japanese cleansers are the perfect products to clean off the harsh chemicals that are present in ordinary make up.
In terms of beauty, we were diametrically opposed: Where I existed in the easy, low-maintenance, zero-to-one-step French skin-care camp, my roommate followed a strict, traditional Korean regimen of as many as ten serums, lotions, patches, and creams. Our respective shelves in the bathroom cabinet looked like two different planets—it was the first time I had ever looked at a shelf of beauty products and thought to myself, “What is all of this stuff?” The more I use the accessibly priced and adorably packaged K-beauty products, I realize that if skin care is considered a luxury in America, in Korea it’s a right, and they make it fun, which is why everyone is doing it. I’ve built an arsenal of facial mists, oils (both for cleansing and for moisturizing), face masks, sponges, serums, lotions, and masks for day, night, and a longer, more nourishing routine on the weekends. The trick, for me, has been figuring out which ingredients work best for my skin, and then finding the best products that contain those ingredients. One of the best parts about the surge in the popularity of Korean beauty is that now these products are so accessible: If you don’t want to place orders from stores halfway around the world and wait weeks for things to arrive, it’s as easy as getting on the New York City subway. If you’re going to embark on your own Korean beauty shopping excursion, and I recommend that you do, I can tell you that the best part about these stores are the people who work in them: expert women who will speak to you openly and enthusiastically about their skin-care routines.

Then you have the extra stuff: the sheet masks and spot treatments and sleeping packs and all sorts of things. What are the must have essentials that you need? I’m here to help you create your own Korean skincare routine. First things first, keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to use Korean skincare products in a Korean skincare routine. If you have a ton of stuff from Sephora, you can use that. Second, analyze what type of skin you have. All of these things will effect the type of products you use. One of my favorite things about Korean cosmetics is that each brand has multiple skin care lines, so if you have acne prone skin, you can head to Etude and pick up the AC Clinic line, or if you like Innisfree you can pick up the entire Jejubija line. You know you need to wash your face, use a toner, and a moisturizer. You don’t have to spend a hundreds dollars at first. Introduce new products into your routine slowly and carefully, and before you know it, you’ll have no where to put all of your Korean goodies! Cleanser A cleanser is possibly the most important thing you can buy, so make sure to buy a quality one that won’t dry out your skin. If you wear makeup, you also need to get an oil cleanser, as a good oil cleanser will break up all the makeup and dirt from your day.
*You just have to use the cotton sheet provided inside to wipe off your black and white heads* This is the cotton sheet given for *step 2*, nothing much, you just have to use it to wipe off the excessive dirt from your face. Overall: The pros I must say that it is very easy to use, as you just have to use the cotton sheet given to wipe off the black and white heads, but SADLY, it doesn't work at all for me. Pros: Affordable (because it is on sales) & the only effect I see on my skin is hydrating and nothing more than that I would say. I get this from The Sops (Publika Mall), so far I have only tried the Egg Peel off Pack and I love it! Packaging: Cool because each pack comes with 3 pairs of eye mask and you can reseal it after you use it and keep it for the next usage! These are the BB Cream I have in my current collection (all from Korea as well) =) As you can see the first BB cream (Skin Food), the coverage is very low and it is water based as it design to hydrate your skin! For the second BB cream( Etude House), the coverage is medium to full, and it is in skin color. For the third BB Cream (An Premium), the coverage is high and the texture is very thick, and a little grayish in color, when you further blend it it will finish off in natural skin tone color to suits your own skin tone. Comments: Yes, I love this product because after cleansing with this cleansing gel you will feel your skin is smooth and it is also soothes your skin, suitable for sensitive skin as well.
