Korean Skin Care Routine

Here are the steps for a typical Korean skin care routine: Most people think toners are useless/overkill/drying to the skin, but if you pick the right toner for your skin type, it will be well worth your money. While many Western toners are designed to simply balance your skin's p H levels, many Asian toners aim to do that AND hydrate the skin with nutrients. I like to think that this is THE product to use when you're unhappy or unsatisfied with your skin in someway. Okay, so emulsion may not be for everyone, so depending on the season and/or your skin type, you may or may not need to use am emulsion. If you have oily skin, you may not need to use emulsions in your daily skin care routine. That way, your skin can heal while you sleep (which is, by the way, super important to your skincare routine!), and you wake up with beautiful, radiant skin :) You would use the exfoliator or peel after your gentle cleanser and before your toner. Sheet masks are great for any skin types, and should be used depending on your skin type. Depending on the season, the condition of your skin, etc., you may want to use sheet masks 1-3 times a week. more...

My Morning Skin Care Routine - A Skincare Blog - Skin and

This way, I’m able to more accurately observe what each new product is doing for my skin, and if I do have a reaction to something new, I’m able to pinpoint which product is the culprit. Please note that I’m only using one product for each category at any given time, with the exception of serums and p H dependent treatments. You can check out my post about the moisture barrier, acne, and skin sensitivity for more information about this topic. This is the most affordable of my top 5 cleansers, and has been a staple of mine for a very long time. Where to Buy: You can find this cleanser at Sephora.com , where it retails for $45. Where to Buy: You can find this toner on the Silk Naturals website , where it retails for $9. This one remains my favorite – it is extremely effective and has the shortest ingredient list (less potential for irritation or product reactions). Instead, you can use BHA with your morning routine and retinol in the evening. I do think this one is great for all skin types, and oily types will probably have better luck with this sunscreen than the UV Creamy Gel. Where to Buy: This sunscreen is available on Amazon for $23 , and is available for Prime shipping. more...

Where to buy Korean Cosmetics and Skincare Online

Being a KDRAMA Addict, I had a chance to check the Korean Culture which includes their food habits and skincare which made me search vigorously for a super website that could get me my most desired Korean stuff to my doorstep. Here is my list of the websites/ebay stores that are pretty reliable and genuine. Recently, a Korean skincare brand, "Innisfree" launched a store in New Delhi and it happens to be the only store in India. When you are shopping from Wishtrend.com , w2beauty  , cosmetic love  and  Jolse.com  feel free to use my id [email protected] to avail extra discounts. Wishtrend - One of my very favourite brand for the greatest skincare collection and that delivery in 10-15 days. You can use my code for instant discount by entering my email id [email protected] or your sponsor code 18197007 in the registration form. So, these are the stores that I prefer shopping from for the Korean and Asian skincare and cosmetics. This is a random list that I prepared by searching all over the ebay stores and google. I shopped from few and the others are taken from the good testimonials on other blogs. You may find better deals in ebay and do compare the prices before you shop coz you never know the products can be priced at less in different stores. more...

5 Fascinating Trends in Korean Skin Care - Skin and Tonics

There was a time when the harvesting of these birds nests from their natural caves was ecologically devastating, but the days of cave harvesting are over. I was able to find research backing the skincare benefit claims of some of the individual components of a bird’s nest, but could find no research in English that studied the bird’s nest as a whole in terms of skincare benefits. But if the skincare benefits are as real as they seem, I certainly don’t want to miss out. Bee venom has been used for years to treat arthritis, back pain, and rheumatism, but as a skincare ingredient, it’s still a newcomer. The idea is that the skin benefits from it because of a compound contained in the venom called “melitten.”  Melitten contains anti-inflammatory properties that are said to be stronger than hydrocortisone. I was unable to find a completed study specifically regarding the effects of bee venom in skincare. No doubt you’ve seen American products advertising stem cell technology, but the difference is that the stem cells in American products are plant derived. The skincare benefits of using these stem cells, sometimes called called RG 2, is increased cell regeneration and sun damage reversal. There have been many studies done on the efficacy of stem cell technology in skincare, and it looks as though the claims are true. Stem cell based skincare is huge in Korea, with many experts arguing that it’s the greatest innovation in skincare to date.  It has the potential to be huge here, but there is a lot of controversy over stem cell research and usage in this country. Most products featuring Syn-ake are serums, although there are some skincare lines that feature moisturizing creams and emulsions containing the compound. Like bee venom, Syn-ake is touted as a Botox alternative, but what sets it apart is that there have actually been studies done on its safety and efficacy. What I’ve learned from all this is that I apparently have no boundaries when it comes to skincare. more...

South Korea – The New Skin Care PowerHouse - Best Men's

Independent skin care product reviews and tips. South Korea – The New Skin Care Power House. In the 1990’s, France was unanimously considered the skin care Super Power. The newest and best beauty products came from France and everyone wanted to look like the sexy French women. Now in the skincare world especially women’s luxury skin care, South Korea is now the new France. This is clearly seen in the super advanced technology (such as their skin care lasers and photo facials) used in South Korea for purposes of self-beautification. Female slave workers would be working in the fields all day and their skin complexions would be all browned and tan. And to this day, this continued demand for skin whitening has spurred the growth of technological beauty innovation in the country from their high tech beauty skin lasers to their pioneering the use of stem cells in women’s luxury anti-aging skin care products. How much are South Korean women obsessed with skin care? The average Korean woman uses around 18 different skin care products each day. It is no surprise that many Americans these days now consider South Korean skin care products as the “secrets” of their beauty routine. more...

New Splash Masks Korean Skin Care - Marie Claire

Basically, these splash masks are unlike any mask you've tried before, mainly because they come in liquid form and take all of 15 to 30 seconds to use (meaning that I could have been on time to those parties). The masks are a blend of botanical extracts and lactic acid, which helps to re-texturize your skin. To use this mask, you mix about a capful of the stuff with a bowl of water, and then splash (as the name suggests) the mixture on your face for under half a minute, rinse, and boom—you're done. If you are mess-prone or just really not into adding extra dirty dishes to the ever-growing pile in your sink, you can also take the mask into your shower, pour a capful of product into your palms, and pat onto your face for 20 seconds or so. The video below shows just how to use the mask, with music, graphics, and all. Results included soft, radiant, and glow-y skin, and the masks have been selling out at glowrecipe.com . Blithe Splash Masks come in soothing and healing green tea, (energizing) yellow citrus and honey, and rejuvenating purple berry, with green tea as the fan favorite. more...

Korean Skin Care and Skin Whitening - Eat Your Kimchi

Korean Skin Care and Skin Whitening. In Korea, people protect themselves from the sun. Korea, then Japan, then the US, then the UK. Skin cancer isn’t in the top ten in either Korea or Japan, but 5th and 4th in the US and UK, respectively. Anyhow, speaking of skin cancer, we mentioned in our video a bit about mole removal and how we got some of ours removed. Point is, we didn’t remove them for cosmetic purposes, but because we noticed that they were looking a bit irregular, and we know that can lead to health complications in the future. Quick, easy, painless, and TEN BUCKS! Just walked in to a place we were told about and got it done. Then again, procedures in Korea are pretty cheap compared to procedures elsewhere, probably because there are dermatologists and clinics just about everywhere. Are we wrong in thinking that people take better care of their skin here in Korea than in North America? One last thing we forgot to mention: a really cheap and easy way that Koreans take care of their skin so they can stay looking young and beautiful is – how could I have forgotten to mention this? more...

Why I Love Korean Skin - Care : One Vogue Editor on Where to

In terms of beauty, we were diametrically opposed: Where I existed in the easy, low-maintenance, zero-to-one-step French skin-care camp, my roommate followed a strict, traditional Korean regimen of as many as ten serums, lotions, patches, and creams. Our respective shelves in the bathroom cabinet looked like two different planets—it was the first time I had ever looked at a shelf of beauty products and thought to myself, “What is all of this stuff?” The more I use the accessibly priced and adorably packaged K-beauty products, I realize that if skin care is considered a luxury in America, in Korea it’s a right, and they make it fun, which is why everyone is doing it. I’ve built an arsenal of facial mists, oils (both for cleansing and for moisturizing), face masks, sponges, serums, lotions, and masks for day, night, and a longer, more nourishing routine on the weekends. The trick, for me, has been figuring out which ingredients work best for my skin, and then finding the best products that contain those ingredients. One of the best parts about the surge in the popularity of Korean beauty is that now these products are so accessible: If you don’t want to place orders from stores halfway around the world and wait weeks for things to arrive, it’s as easy as getting on the New York City subway. If you’re going to embark on your own Korean beauty shopping excursion, and I recommend that you do, I can tell you that the best part about these stores are the people who work in them: expert women who will speak to you openly and enthusiastically about their skin-care routines. more...

The nice thing about Sasa is the fact you can a wide range of everything from Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese brands. The stock is sometimes kinda low and they sell out of things quickly I’ve noticed but they do restock so you have to keep your eyes peeled. The sad part is they are limited sometimes to what they do stock from brands…like Etude House they carry but it’s a very limited amount of product they have and not newly released items. They also carry drugstore brands like Maybelline and the nice thing is you can indulge in products we haven’t yet gotten from Maybelline here in the US. They are also the mecca for Asian skincare and sheet masks from brands like My Beauty Dairy, etc. This one is sadly lacking in Korean beauty here unfortunately but a good amount of Japanese skincare and beauty from brands like Jill Stuart, Canmake, Kose, KATE, Majolica Majorca. Excellent variety of skincare, beauty, and makeup however, more concentrated on Japanese brands here with a few Taiwanese ones like My Beauty Dairy but no selection of Korean ones. Excellent variety of products and the newest, hottest Asian releases in both cosmetics and skincare. They have a good selection but sometimes aren’t as active with newer products and collections. They have incredible prices that are close to retail plus an excellent selection of the hottest and newest Korean beauty products. more...
