The move towards natural, chemical-free skincare products is becoming more and more mainstream. Consumers are becoming more and more aware of the fact that the things we put on our skin affect both our health and the health of our environment. Additionally, even if we are using pristine and homemade products, we can still be disrupting the regeneration cycle of the skin. The terms “natural” and “naturally derived” have no significance. When we apply drying products on the skin, it actually signals the skin to produce more oil to compensate for the oil that is being stripped away. The same “like treats like” principle also goes for dry skin, according to holistic skincare expert Dr. When treated with the right ingredients–both outside and inside– the skin will increase cellular turnover and look soft and smooth… Especially when it comes to the beauty of our skin! In my opinion, the most significant change we can make for better skin is balancing our hormones naturally through diet, lifestyle and a few carefully selected supplements. It sounds counterintuitive, but it leaves the skin clean and soft. I warm a few drops of my facial oil between my fingers and press it on my face after toning in the morning. Are you making the transition to natural skincare?
Skin Care Routine for Sensitive, Oily, Acne-Prone Skin. I use this product 2x a day (morning and night). This toner is gentler on my skin (but I don’t get that “deep clean” feeling that I love.) This toner is great for sensitive skin, or if your skin is sunburned. This goes back to the whole stripping your skin problem I’ve been talking about. I’ve recently been using this moisturizer, and I love it! If this moisturizer isn’t for you, I would go with Cetaphil’s oily skin daily moisturizer . This product in combination with the Aczone made a huge difference in my skin. This does cause your skin to peel. This product is probably the #1 contributor in my skin clearing up. This is great for oily skin, but must be used with caution. If your skin isn’t oily, I would use the brush less.
Ask any skin doc and they'll tell you that retinoids are the crème de la crème of anti-aging ingredients. With either option, flaking and redness are potential side-effects as your skin acclimates to the powerhouse ingredient, but these are easily mitigated. "If your skin is normal, apply a plain moisturizer underneath your retinoid," advises Joshua Zeichner, M. Combination skin? Try this moisturizer trick just on the drier parts of your face—typically the cheeks—and apply the retinol directly onto the oilier spots, like your forehead, nose, and chin. It's a tricky balancing act when it comes to zapping zits and dealing with combination skin. You obviously want to get rid of pesky pimples, but some of the more common blemish-fighting ingredients (think salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide) can leave the drier parts of your skin feeling stripped. Consider botanicals to help keep skin both clear and balanced. For normal to combination skin, it's best to stick to the middle of the road when selecting a moisturizer. Pass on balms or creams housed in jars; these are always richer and thicker, and best reserved for super dry skin. You can also scan the ingredient list for glycerin and hyaluronic acid, two ingredients that draw moisture to the skin, without feeling too heavy or creamy. "If your skin is normal or combination, it can tolerate more regular exfoliation," points out Mariwalla. While these all work slightly differently in helping to break up and control the production of excess pigment, the end result is an overall brighter, more even skin tone.
To care for combination skin properly, you need to find products that work well on the different skin types present on your face, and that do not irritate your skin. You will need to moisturize the dry areas of your face and reduce excess oil on the oily areas of your face. For example, if you are experiencing a breakout on your forehead, and you know the skin on your forehead tends to get oily, use a spot treatment to tackle the oil just on your forehead. Use your fingertips to massage the oil on your face for 30 seconds. Keep the oil on your face for 15-30 seconds and then gently use the cloth to remove the oil. If it does not hurt or irritate your skin, you can use it on the rest of your face. Wet your skin and then gently apply the exfoliant with your fingers. Massage the mixture into your skin for 30 seconds to a minute and then rinse it off with warm water. Apply the scrub to your face for 30 seconds to a minute and then rinse it off with warm water. Apply the mask to your face for 10 minutes. Use a spot treatment for each skin type on your face. But in the end, your combination skin will thank you for paying attention to the needs of the different skin types on your face.
I have oily/combination skin, as most Asians do, and where I come from the winter is very drying for my skin. A plus of this cleanser is that it is made without parabens, sulfates, and phthlates, so it is gentle on the skin. Tea is also known to soothe and calm the skin. This toner is really good for winter AND summer because it soothes redness and fights pimples without over-drying your skin. I would be cautious if you're someone with dry or sensitive skin, as the tea tree may be a bit too drying for dry skin and may be a bit strong for sensitive skin. The grapefruit water contains a lot of Vitamin C, which brightens your complexion and promotes collagen production, which is essential for youthful skin. Due to grapefruit's fruit acidity, this ingredient also has antibacterial properties, and is good for controlling oil production. I recommend this product for everyone and anyone. I think this stuff is a miracle-maker, and it has worked amazingly for me. This moisturizer is heavily endorsed by my K-idol, Bae Suzy, and is awesome for the hot and humid summer season. Vitamin B 3 is responsible for soothing the skin with its anti-inflammatory properties and zinc helps to control oil production. Personally, I think it is a bit heavy to use as a morning moisturizer in the summer because I have oily skin, but if you have dry skin or even normal skin, then this may work well for you. Some emulsions are more watery than this one, but I was between choosing this emulsion and the cream from the same IOPE line. Locust tree flower helps to soothe and calm inflammation of the skin. Tea tree leaf oil is one of the best natural remedies for acne, as it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

What your skin care routine says about you (and your skin) From the skin care product minimalist to the shopaholic who’ll try a new product weekly, your skin care routine will have a great effect not only on your skin today, but for years to come. Your Skin’s Future: You don’t need to stockpile a ton of products onto your bathroom counter, but you do need to step up your skin care routine to include a few more products to keep your skin looking young. Your skin even changes over the year with the seasons, so it may require products that can deliver more hydrating, or more anti-aging benefits as time goes by. Your Skin’s Future: When you “cherry pick” skin care products from dozens of different lines, you can confuse your skin – and do more harm that good – never giving it the time it needs for a product to actually work. Use one professional skin care line , and don’t jump from product to product. “I switch up products during the year as the weather changes, and will add in new professional products as needed if I see any new concerns (my skin care professional is a big help).” YOU’RE DEDICATED: Whether it’s hormonal or seasonal changes in your skin, you’re prepared to take them on with the help of a skin care professional. Your skin gets the benefit of professional exfoliating on an ongoing basis, and smoother, more radiant skin is a result of the professional massage included in your facials. Keep adapting your skin care routine to any concerns you see, and stick to the professional skin care line that’s keeping your skin clear and younger-looking.
If you have to touch your face, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water - or alternatively, use a face towel. Determine your skin type and buy skin care products to suit your skin type. This is an incredibly important step because if you buy products that aren't appropriate for your skin, they will be incredibly ineffective, and may worsen the situation. Dry Skin-If your skin feels very tight and is noticeably flaky in areas, then you have dry skin. If your face is visibly shiny, and literally feels slightly wet to the touch then you have oily skin. If you have oily skin, you should tone, exfoliate, use a spot treatment, and lightly moisturize once in a while. If you have combination skin, you tend to get oily around your nose, chin, and forehead area, and dry around your cheeks. If you have sensitive skin, use a moisturizer, cleanser, and spot treatment all suitable for sensitive skin. Apply the cleanser and massage it into your skin in upwards, circular motions. By restoring your skin to its natural p H, you also make it more resistant against bacteria and micro-organisms. So after cleansing and toning you should moisturize with a face moisturizer for your skin type. If you haven't applied enough moisturizer and your skin still feels a little tight, then apply a bit more. Your skin needs to get used to the frequency of being treated, and to the products you're using.
Cystic Acne Causes And Treatments. Cystic acne is a painful and common condition that strikes millions of people every year. The key to fixing this condition lies in understanding cystic acne causes and making smart treatment choices. Typically, combination skin is when some parts of your face are dry or flaky, while the center part of your face, nose, chin, and forehead (called the T-zone) is oily. When it comes to combination skin, the causes and combinations are a little bit different for everyone. Another common cause of combination skin can be a result of the very skin-care products you are using. Is seeing a very early spring this year with warmer weather by the day, I knew I needed to start tailoring a new skin care routine for my combination, acne prone skin. There are so many removers that are way too harsh and leave my skin flaky, but a lot of gentler formulas just don’t get the job done. The aloe and cucumber also add a little bit of a moisturizing effect. I need a gentle cleanse morning and night as the foundation of my routine. It’s got a beautiful spa like feel on the face and leaves me clean without stripping. I pair it with the FOREO Luna Mini to get deep into pores and whisk away dirt and oil at the end of the day. In the morning, I’m only using the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on an exfoliating cotton pad, since I don’t feel that I need anything stronger— only to wipe away any sweat and oil accumulated during the night and start out with a balanced face for makeup. I’m currently loving and using the Garnier Clearly Brighter Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer , which has a thin consistency but is still moisturizing enough to have my skin feeling great all day. With this routine, my acne has been tamed to about 10% of what it was even a month ago, and my skin has felt way more balanced across the board. While it seems like a lot, I’m willing to take the extra time if it means my skin looks clear, radiant and provides a great base for my makeup.
