I always think that it’s worth spending a little more on a serum – read my serum post here – but I like the three I’ve picked because they are nice and hydrating and straightforward. The Vichy Aqualia is particularly lovely, and my pick of the three – that’s £16.15 here . The Aloe one is quite soothing and calming, that’s £12 here . My picks with SPF are from No7 (from £12.50 here ), because they always seem a good solid choice and I get on well with them, and the Avon ANEW SPF 50 that I reviewed last year . I like Toleriane Ultra (£14.85 here ) for calming down angsty, sensitive skin and then the Hydraphase for long-term hydration. I like it a lot, and it’s reduced to £19.99 at the moment here which is something of a boon! Olay’s Eye Swirl does have some nice ingredients worth writing home about, and you can read more on it here. The Omega Rich Face Oil is very lovely and costs £14 – I can never see it in stock online, but it’s well worth checking for when you’re out shopping. Just two here, for the moment. If you are extremely oily get a moisturizer that is “oil free”. With oily skin, the excess oil will mix with the dead skin and settle in your pores (sorry if that is a gross image, but it’s true). This will soak up all extra oil without drying you out or stripping your skin. Even though you are oily and you may think you don’t need that heavy cream by your eyes- you do! D., a New York-based dermatologist and author of Skin Rules, about the best way to handle our morning skin-care regimens. Today I am going to show you the products I use and what I do to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy. The first thing I use, and I have been using this for years, is the Clarisonic brush. I use this with a cleanser that is compatible with my skin, for me that’s the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash as I have acne prone skin. I use this with the clarisonic brush every morning to help clean my skin and make sure my pores are clean as well. This has a light orange scent that is not overpowering and feels wonderful on the skin. The vitamin C in this is great for producing collagen and antioxidants. I only do this in the morning after I have used my Clarisonic brush and I allow it to sit for several minutes to give it time to fully penetrate the skin before moving on to a moisturizer. I use the Clinique All About Eyes and I use this right before going to bed. This is the final thing I use in my skin care routine and it’s the one you have to be the most careful with. I have worked up to using it every night but this is gradual and takes time as not to harm the skin.
